The Origins of Badfunk

Here is the second illustration I did for the now-not-happening-in-it's-planned-format second Satellite Soda art book.
The title does not really relate to the image, or at least it shouldn't be taken very literally. I didn't create the character of the Badfunk, so I'm not the one who invents his origin story. I really just thought this would be a cool looking picture, and it COULD work as a background story (although it's not). Hence the title.
When I did this one (and actually also the previously submitted Deviation), I was on a real anime streak, watching various shows and movies left and right, and I was definitely inspired by some Gainax in the making of this image.
