I didn't know the man personally. But reading all these stories about him, all these little things about his character that people have been posting up everywhere online makes me wish I had. Seems like he was one of the best types of people. After I read the news of his death, I headed on over to his DA page, and seeing my own avatar in the man's friend list didn't make it any easier. I didn't even know the man was aware of my work. But I guess that just proves what everybody has been writing about him.
Jon approached me with the idea of making a tribute piece for Ringo. It was originally supposed to be somewhere on Newsarama, but I missed that deadline. I didn't want to rush this piece either though.
